Mentors

The Student-Mentor Discussion System is the platform used to organize and monitor the conversations between students and their mentors and youth group leaders. Discussion topics include Biblical questions, the student’s schoolwork, life at home, and many other topics.

The Student-Mentor relationship normally begins when a student writes down answers to discussion questions at a Have A Standard Foundation event. After the event, we record the answers on our digital database, creating a file for each student. We then continue the process by assigning a mentor to each student, and giving them follow-up questions to discuss.

Student Answer: 11-19-05 To be the best. To make it further in life. To make it happen for you.
Mentor: Ashley Adams 11-25-05 These are very common definitions of success. The Bible teaches that it is important to do our best. But to further understand the reason for doing your best, please read Colossians 3:23.

Student Answer: 12-10-05 My thought is this phrase is saying that if you do something good and pleasing do it for God and not for any human on earth.
Mentor: Ashley Adams 12-18-05 You're right! The Bible teaches us to act as if God is watching us and to work for His glory and not our own. Sometimes, though, we may not see the results of our hard work – does that mean we are not successful? Read 1 Corinthians 15:58 to see what Paul says about a Christian’s work.
