The C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos

Following the example of theme parks in using comic book characters to make participants’ experiences more exciting, Ty Cobb, founder of the Have A Standard Foundation, created the C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos comic book, characters, and storyline. The characters’ adventures serve as a basis for theming Have A Standard’s events, experiential learning scenarios, and challenges.
We believe that by making events exciting, we can increase students’ interest in continuing to participate. Keeping students engaged gives us more opportunities to build relationships and teach them Biblical standards.
In addition to the C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos comic book, the Have A Standard Foundation has created the C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos Trading Card Game to build relationships and teach Biblical principles to students and motivate them to complete C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Leadership Training assignments. The "C.R.O.S.S." in C.R.O.S.S.FIRE stands for Critical Rescue Operations in Severe Situations. The C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos rescue civilians caught in the “crossfire” of dangerous situations. They intercede on behalf of people experiencing oppression, persecution, or injustice. The C.R.O.S.S.FIRE Commandos are ordinary people who have undergone extraordinary training. The Commandos sometimes do live rock-and-roll shows to raise funds for their rescue missions. To learn about the shows, click here.

The Commandos do not take sides in battles between different cultures or societies, but sometimes they are required to use non-lethal weaponry to rescue civilians trapped in severe situations. To see some of the non-lethal weaponry, click here.
