Honor the Contract
Progressing through the "Honor" assignments
requires parent and student collaboration.

1. You and your student must set a goal to be accomplished over the designated time period. You may choose these goals from the list provided or create your own, but the goals should be applicable to the student’s life and family.

2. Choose or create a “Reinforcement for Success” and a “Consequence for Failure” for the goal.

Post this contract in an easily accessible location. Each day you and your student will determine whether the student succeeded in achieving the goal, or still needs improvement. Check the appropriate box each day, every day. A good time for review may be at dinner or before bed. Dialogue each day with your student regarding the check mark is critical.

4. At the end of each week, review the record and extend the reinforcement or the consequence. Reinforcements should not include material gifts such as new toys, cd’s, etc. The consequence lasts until the next week’s review.

5. Feel free to change the goal, reinforcement, or consequence at the end of each week.
